The new, state-of-the-art GED Plus building at Camp Robinson will be dedicated Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM CT in honor of the late Sgt. Jeffrey W. Jordan who was killed in action near Kakar, Afghanistan June 4, 2009. Jordan earned his graduate examination diploma through GED Plus, Dec. 13, 2006.

The new 200,000 square foot GED Plus building features 22 classrooms, 12 barracks to house up to 480 Soldiers, dining facility to accommodate 200 Soldiers per sitting, and is a certified green building. The groundbreaking was held January 25, 2009 and was completed on June 24, 2010.
Lt. Gen. Benjamin C. Freakley, Commanding General, U.S. Army Accessions Command at Ft. Knox, Maj. Gen. Raymond W. Carpenter, Acting Director of the Army National Guard, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Clyde A. Vaughn, former Director of the Army National Guard and the widow of Sgt. Jeffrey W. Jordan, Mrs. Lacey Jordan are scheduled to attend and speak at the dedication ceremony.
The GED Plus program began under the vision and leadership of Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Clyde A. Vaughn, former Director of the Army National Guard in 2006. Since then, the program has awarded more than 10,000 graduate examination diplomas to Soldiers throughout the 54 states and territories.

We have received official notice that GED Plus Class 13-005 will be our last class to graduate from the program.
Effective today, GED Plus will no longer be an enlistment option for recruits wishing to finish their high school education and serve their country. We hope that those applicants who were pursuing GED Plus will continue with their education and to fight for their dreams. When one door closes, another one opens.
Our final graduation will be held March 22nd at 2 p.m. at the National Guard Professional Education Center, Militia Hall, Jones Auditorium in North Little Rock, AR.
The GED Plus Program Closing Ceremony will be held Monday, 15 April 2013 at 1400 at the SGT Jeffery W. Jordan GED Plus Complex, Camp J.T. Robinson in North Little Rock, AR.
